Contacts (ITMC-Webapp)

You can create people tiles, employee detail pages or lists via this plug-in. Below you will find the description of the different usage options.

Add Plug-in

The first step is to insert the plug-in into your page as a content element (see screenshot "Insert plug-in"). After that, the workflows for the different representations differ only slightly. However, some steps always remain the same and are explained centrally here. Unfortunately, the webapp is not translated. Therefore the settings are shown in German.

For example, you will always use the search field and select persons or organizational units (see screenshot "Select persons"). After the selection, the person is added with the "+" sign (see screenshot "Add and arrange people"). Since the search only displays a maximum of ten results, try to refine the search term if your desired result is not yet displayed. Only the last or first name is usually not enough for frequently occurring names. If you enter the full name, the search should work.

As you can see on the screenshot "Add and arrange people", you can use the icon with the three stripes to drag and drop the elements.

Which People Can Be Inserted?

The data of TU Dortmund University employees is automatically available. In this case, the contact data can only be changed by the person themselves via the ServicePortal.

Change Contact Info

The second option to create people for the Contacts plugin is only available for webadmins. So if you don't find the person you want, you can ask your webadmin to create the person manually. Also, only a webadmin can make changes to these records.

These self-created records can be used on your web pages in tiles, lists as well as on employee detail pages. However, only the data of TU Dortmund University employees will still be displayed in the people search.

Webadmins can find documentation for this at the following link:

Creating a Person's Record

People Records Created by the Webadmin

You can tell whether a person is obtained from the TU's dataset or whether their webadmin created them by the symbol displayed next to the result in the search field.

The higher search hit is from the TU dataset, the lower one is a dataset created by the webadmin.

Source of dataset

If a data set has been created in more than one language, you can recognize this by the language parameter added in brackets.

You can mix people from both sources for tiles as well as in the table form.
