Fallback Type Free

With the fallback type Free, only the pages/content that are available in the language currently selected by the language switcher are displayed. This is explained by the following example:

Example: Page 1

On page 1, three content elements exist on the German page. Only the first two have been translated.

Page 1 in the Backend
Page 1 - German
Page 1 - English

Example: Page 2

On page 2, three content elements exist on the German side. All three have been translated and one more has been added on the English page.

Page 2 in the Backend
Page 2 - German
Page 2 - English

Example: German only

The German only page has not been translated. That is why it does not appear in the menu when English is selected.

Only German in the Backend
German only on the German page

Example: English only

The English only page contains content only in the English version. Since it is not possible to create a translation of a page if there is no page in the leading language ( in our examples this is German ), however, an empty German page exists, which is also displayed in the menu.
