Rate Limit
As a measure to provide some protection against DoS (Denial of Service) attacks, a so-called rate limit was implemented throughout the entire TYPO3 installation at TU Dortmund University.
DoS attacks involve bombarding websites with requests in such a way that normal operation is disrupted or rendered impossible. This is done using a script that can, of course, send far more requests than a website user clicking with a mouse.
To mitigate this potential disruption, a rate limit has been implemented. This means we have capped the number of requests allowed within a certain time period. If this limit is exceeded, the page shown in the image on the right will be displayed.
As a website visitor, you should never see this page. In the unlikely event that this does happen, please contact us. We can add your IP address to an exception list so that this restriction does not apply to you.
